The module is intended to familiarize you with the life cycles of parasites of major importance in Africa and to explain how the animal/human immune system mounts a defense against them. Content includes life cycles of protozoan and helminth parasites, account of the specific and non-specific immune systems, immunotherapy and immunization, and strategies of teaching and learning Parasitology and Immunology

BIO2345: MOLECULAR BIOLOGY AND BIOTECHNOLOGY
Semester 5

Molecular biology is the study of biology at a molecular level. The field overlaps with other areas of biology and chemistry, particularly genetics and biochemistry. Molecular biology chiefly concerns itself with understanding the interactions between the various systems of a cell, including the interactions between DNA, RNA and protein biosynthesis as well as learning how these interactions are regulated.
