1.Welcome to PS80442 Module,

Dear Student,

Welcome to the module of Ball Game II: Basketball, Volleyball, Handball, Football. This module has 10 Credit ,it will provide you with understanding of fundamental skills, including techniques and tactical skills of Football, Basketball, Handball and Volleyball. The course will be delivered through a blended learning approach, requiring your active engagement in lectures, discussions, and practical sessions. You are expected to demonstrate critical thinking, academic integrity, and professional responsibility throughout the module.

2.Module aims 

This module aims at improving the student’s understanding on fundamental skills and techniques of Football, Volleyball, Basketball and Handball. It is to explore the offensive and defensive tactics of Basketball, Handball, Football and Volleyball in games playing sessions. The essential technical competition rules and officiating procedures of these games are to be emphasized in this module.

3. Module learning outcomes

By the end of this module the student will be able to:

Demonstrate Major skills and techniques of playing football, hand ball, volley ball and basketball

Apply Technical offensive and defensive playing strategies specific to football, handball, volleyball and basketball

Apply official rules during the games

PS80443: Martial Arts II: Karate, Taekwondo and Judo

Dear student, welcome to this Martial Arts II module! As year 2 students, you are about to deepen your understanding of this dynamic martial arts.

General introduction

This module will focus on refining fundamental skills such as punches, strikes, blocks, and kicks while integrating them into kata and kumite. At this level, students develop greater accuracy, speed, coordination, and control. Emphasis is placed on proper body mechanics, timing, and the effective combination of offensive and defensive techniques for practical application.

Module Aim 

The aim of this module is to develop students’ proficiency in Karate techniques, including punches, strikes, blocks, kicks, kata, and kumite. It focuses on enhancing technical accuracy, coordination, timing, and tactical application, enabling students to effectively integrate offensive and defensive skills in both practice and controlled sparring.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate correct execution of intermediate Karate techniques, including punches, strikes, blocks, kicks, kata, and kumite.
  • Apply techniques effectively in both kata performance and controlled kumite (sparring).
  •  combinations.
  • Exhibit proper body mechanics, including stance, balance, timing, coordination, and hip rotation.
  • Analyze and correct technical errors to improve overall performance.
