The aim of this module is to introduce learners to the principles of kinesiology and biomechanics in patho-mechanical scenarios related to Physiotherapy. It provides basic knowledge and skills for analysis of human movement, function and their application in managing conditions affecting movement performance.
This module aims to enable the learner, understand the different pathological processes, surgical approaches, and pharmacotherapy for various conditions. This module will cover the pathology of common medical conditions and surgical interventions classified according to the body systems. The module will also cover the pharmacology topics that are relevant to physiotherapy practice. This module will be facilitated through face to face and online lectures, group discussions and assignments.
To enable the trainee understand the different pathological processes and surgical approaches for various conditions and the implications for physiotherapy management
Module Team: Mr. Francis Wabwire, Dr. Justin Bayisenga
Module Leader: HoD
Pre-requisites: Knowledge of Human Anatomy and Physiology.
This module introduces you the concepts and theories used in Physics that govern movement and application of forces to and from the body and how they are related function and dysfunction of the body's tissues. It equip the learner with the principles of Human movement and biomechanics specific to Human structure and function, human movement and performance, Human movement treatment in clinical situations.
