PHY3141: Electronics
Trimester 1

This module deals with basic concepts and principles in electronics and communication. The module introduces the concepts of semiconductor’s structure and basic electronics devices but also introduce logic fundamentals and analog and digital signals.

PHY1142: Classical Mechanics
Trimester 1

This Module provides a working knowledge of vector analysis and classical mechanics. Students will be able to analyse physical situations and physical phenomena from the fundamental principles related to classical mechanics. The general objectives of this Module are at two levels: Students will gain the knowledge and will develop the capacity to observe, to analyse, to apply, to interpret, and perform hands on activities related to mechanics.

CSC1142: Computing Basics and Maintenance
Trimester 1

This module is aimed to introduce students to basic building blocks of the computer system and practical knowledge about computer maintenance; to programming language and normal programming constructs.

CSC1144-Software Engineering (Day Program)
Trimester 1

This module addresses advanced issues in information system design and software engineering. It is aimed at helping students to analyze real-life problems and explore the possibilities of how a computerised system can help in solving the problems.

CH80141: General Chemistry
Trimester 1

This module deals with general concepts of chemistry and inorganic chemistry mainly atomic structure, chemical bonds, chemical and nuclear reactions and the periodic table.

BIO1142: Cell Biology and Genetics
Trimester 1

The module aims to explain the role of the cellular architecture in the basic function of living organisms and to develop an understanding of the genetic inheritance. The content includes cell structure and functions, Mendelian lawschromosome theory of inheritance, genetic interaction, and expression of the genetic information, variation and natural selection. Strategies of teaching and learning will be highlighted.
