This module gives fundamental principles of Quantum Physics. It deals with quantum mechanics of single particle in one- dimension, Hydrogen-like atoms and mathematical formulation of Quantum Mechanics.
The aim of this module is to learn the physical basis of astronomy and astrophysics. This requires mastering stellar astrophysics. The spherical astronomy and the familiarization with both variables stars and binary stars are part of the course. The main sections of the module include the following: Spherical astronomy, observations and instruments; celestial mechanics, stellar astrophysics: binary stars and stellar masses; stellar structure; variable stars; physics of compact stars; galactic and extragalactic astronomy.
This module is dedicated to thermodynamics and statistical physics. Both classical and quantum theories will be considered in this module. Gibbs Method will be emphasized. In this module, there are 8 Chapters.
This course introduce students to the basic concepts of environmental and space physics. It is divided into tow parts. Part one provoide students with fundamentals of environmental physics with particular focus on current issues such as climate change and environmental pollution. Part one also describe fundamentals of Sun-Earth interaction (Space weather) and effect on human technology. Part two of the course is an introduction to Astrophysics. Students are provided with basic knowledge of the structure, formation and evolution of stars in galaxies. A basic understanding of the solar system and the universe.

This module explores a broad range of fundamental and topical issues, concepts and lines of thinking regarding Sociology, Psychology and Philosophy. It is central to Social Sciences, aimed at contributing to cultivate quality of thought, and life, notwithstanding its endeavor to maintaining some critical distance between the two levels of things. That is what makes it both exciting and challenging!
The module intends to impart to the students milestone events and developments in Europe and Africa which have shaped history not only in these two continents but in other continents as well.It has two parts: the first looks at European history from the French Revolution to the Cold War. And the second part concentrates with African issues, from colonialization of Africa to the post-independence developments especially colonial legacy and neo-colonialism.

Theories of the State, Grand Constitutions and Constitutional Making Process are areas of inquiry that investigate the key concepts, ideas, systems of thought as well as processes and practices about the nature, functioning, purpose and means of the state and of constitutions. This module offers an examination and analysis of the role/s and dynamics of global environmental politics of the state, international institutions, and civil society actors, as well as the normative underpinnings of actual and potential policies for global environmental politics and governance.
Issues to be studied include definitions of key concepts in environmental related sub-fields; political dimension of environmental protection and management; major drivers of environmental change around the World; major environmental problems at international, regional and national levels; discussion on the concept of "sustainable development" or "sustainability"; characteristics and types of environmental conflicts; links between environment and security; key issues related to environmental policy, law and planning; major stakeholders and their actions in environmental politics and governance; global and national instruments in environmental politics and governance; environmental politics and governance in Rwanda.
As case study, the module will analyze the overview as well as key issues in environmental politics and governance in Rwanda.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF AIMS AND CONTENT
This module seeks to introduce students to broad topics in gender and politics, and it is divided into three analytical Units. In the first unit, we will explore gender as a critical analytical category and discuss its significance within politics. The module will also identify and theorize gender inequalities worldwide, and will deal with the questions of why these inequalities prevail and how they can politically be addressed. The second unit will focus on the engagement of women’s movements with formal and informal politics in historical and contemporary contexts. We shall debate the nature and modes of women’s and men’s participation and representation in formal electoral systems, civil society, nationalist movements, revolutions, and in processes of democratization. In the third unit, we will discuss the transformative potential of feminist politics in local and transnational contexts. Drawing on gender and feminist theory, on comparative politics as well as International Relations approaches, it aims at discussing political instruments and strategies to advance gender equality as well as the governance mechanisms that have contributed to the diffusion of respective policy measures globally. The module will draw on case studies from different regions and compare similarities and differences across cases and will allow students to draw lessons learned from selected case studies.
