This unit is part of the module entitled Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, Research and Computing Basics in the program of Hospital and Healthcare Administration (MHA). This is a Master's degree Program. The module is intended to introduce the principles of epidemiology, biostatistics, research method, public health and computing and demonstrate the relevance of these principles and practices in the leadership and management of health care organizations. It includes concepts and case studies that support the essential theories, methods, and application in the health care delivery system.
At the end of this course of epidemiology, students are expected to have acquired knowledge and skills on the following topics:

Dear students,
Welcome to this module focused on population theories and policies. It is the only module of this kind in your master program.
The module aims at introduce you to consequences of population trends on socio economic development and implication for policy. Specifically, the module examines the relations between population and development and their potential consequences from a sociological, economic and geographical perspective. A particular attention will be drawn to various population policies in developing countries including family planning.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of this module, students will be able to:
- Understand the main demographic concepts, principles and theories, and policies run across the world
- Understanding different analytic approaches to the main interrelationships between population change and socio-economic development.
- Understand the interrelations between population change and socio-economic and environmental developments.
- Analyse a country’s population policies and draw conclusions, and therefore formulate a meaningful policy.

This module is aiming at providing the students with an insight into manifestations of human diseases and treatment relevant to dental care. It will cover the fundamental knowledge of medicine and surgery that is relevant in the practice of dentistry, hence enabling the student to be competent in assessing medical and surgical conditions in order to offer appropriate dental care.
This module provides the student with knowledge of Microbiology relevant to oral health, learner will be explain the microbiological basis of plaque, caries, periodontal diseases, and their prevention.

This module covers the pathologic basis of oral diseases especially the structural and functional manifestations of diseases of the oral and para-oral structures. The module equips the student with knowledge and skills to identify and diagnose primary oral diseases. This module also describes oral medicine, principles of diagnosis of oral manifestations of systemic diseases and management of diseases of the oral mucosa and salivary gland.
The Continuous assessment will be the Online Quizzes, Assignments and Discussions. Final Examinations will be multiple choice question exams.

This module provides the initial introduction to the basic principles and techniques of dentoalveolar surgery, emphasising on pre-surgical patient evaluation and risk assessment, risk management, instrumentation, infection control and aseptic technique, basic surgical principles, postoperative management of surgical complications, and postoperative management of the surgical patient. Furthermore, imaging 1 is also covered. The History of radiation, production of radiation, equipment, radiation physics and biology, including safety in radiation, patient selection, positioning, processing of films and radiographic errors, and digital imaging are also covered.
