FED1343: Introduction to Early Childhood Education

This module aims at equiping students with knowledge , understanding  and skills that enable them to master the application of acquired knowlegde, skills and attitudes in training teachers of Early Childhood Education; the proper handling of infants learners, using appropriate approaches,methods and techniques of training Early Childhood Education teachers; making them aware of  to develop children's essential pre-reading and pre-writing skills ; Numeracy ; Science and Social Studies to infants. Students will develop knowledge and understanding of general aspects of Early Childhood Educational Development; Pedagogical and socio-psychological principles of Child development; their bearing areas of development : Cognitive, language, social,physical,motor and emotional; an overview on child health and nutrition; classroom management and organization of play activities in Child care setting.
