BLS2152: Molecular Biology I

The aim of this module is to introduce the student to the concepts of Molecular Biology and describe nucleic acids and proteins and how these molecules interact within the cell to promote proper growth, division, and development. Students will develop knowledge and an understanding of molecular mechanisms of DNA replication, repair, protein synthesis …. etc. Also, the module will cover the detection of biological molecules (biomarkers) associated with infectious or genetic disease in patient samples
