HH80412: Media and History

This module aims to enable students to understand the evolution of media technology, from rudimentary forms of communication to advanced multimedia technologies by the late twentieth century, and to examine the role of media in shaping the history of societies. It further explores media as both an academic field of study and an industry, with particular emphasis on how different forms of media influence the production, representation, interpretation, and dissemination of historical knowledge, as well as the development of historical scholarship and historiographical debates.
