QS80361: Statistics for Quantity Surveying

This course introduces students to statistical methods for analysing construction and quantity surveying data. It covers descriptive statistics, probability and construction risk, sampling and hypothesis testing, correlation and regression, and time-series forecasting. Students learn to summarise cost and project data, assess risk, test assumptions, build predictive models, and forecast construction costs. Each technique is taught through practical quantity surveying examples, equipping students to apply statistical reasoning confidently to real estimating, tendering, and project management decisions.
