 Brief description of aims and content

This module provides a basic understanding of chemistry that is relevant in Architecture, Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering students. It covers fundamentals of inorganic Chemistry such as:  atomic structure, the periodic Table, chemical equilibrium and thermochemistry (1st law of thermodynamics). The course also covers an introduction to organic chemistry of hydrocarbons and their derivatives and finally basic knowledge on the chemistry of engineering materials.
