SGE3164: Cadastre and Land Administration I

The purpose of this course is to introduce the concept of land administration and draw attention to the benefits that the society can reap from a good land administration. The module contains cadastre description, land registration and land administration.

By the End of the module learners should be able to:

• Distinguish various concepts underlining land administration,
• Explain and describe elements of land management paradigm,
• Explain various land administration functions,
• Evaluate the problems that can be solved by a good land administration,
• Know the role of related bodies in land administration,
• Understand land registration process,
• Explain the difference between registration of titles and registration of deeds, systematic registration vs sporadic registration,
• Explain the relation of subject-right-object,
• Explain role of cadastral surveyors and surveyors registration ordinance.
