African socialists and Afro-Marxist regimes to a smaller extent conformed with the principal of "classical" socialism developed in Europe because most of them didn't really comply with the real socialism system which is characterized by social ownership of the means of production for the the general interest. these regimes instead was characterized by self ownership of enterprises and making profit rather than complying with the socialism system.
